As a company with a 100-year tradition, the far-sighted use of all resources is essential for Kabelwerk Rhenania GmbH. Long-term economic success can only be achieved if economic, ecological and social behaviour are in harmony with each other. Responsible and safe corporate management, environmental protection and comprehensive quality management are integral parts of Kabelwerk Rhenania GmbH’s corporate policy. We sensitise the employees of Kabelwerk Rhenania GmbH to the sustainable consumption of valuable resources. Our environmental management officer makes a significant contribution to achieving the company’s environmental goals.
The DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 14001, DIN ISO 45001 and RoHS and REACh certificates of conformity confirm this commitment. Kabelwerk Rhenania GmbH also observes all relevant environmental aspects and legal regulations.
The lighting in production and administration is gradually being converted to energy-saving LED technology. The heating systems in logistics are being modernised. Production-related waste has always been reduced, separated and recycled where possible in all areas of the company. In production, we use water from a closed circuit to cool the fibre optic cables in order to avoid the use of drinking water for production.

Our associations
The Bundesverband Breitbandkommunikation e.V. (BREKO) and its members are clearly committed to future-proof fibre optics. At BREKO, we meet a large number of our customers such as carriers and municipal utilities.
At the Fachverband Fernmeldebau (FFB), we meet both medium-sized craft businesses and large international companies. Hardly any other industry has developed as much in recent decades as the telecommunications construction industry.
The Bundesverband Glasfaseranschluss e.V. (BUGLAS) is an association of companies that lay fibre optic lines directly into buildings or households (Fibre to the Building/Home, FttB/H) in Germany and thus set up and operate future-oriented, high-performance communication networks with bandwidths up to the gigabit range.
The ZVEI is an industry association representing the German electrical engineering sector. Kabelwerk Rhenania GmbH is active in the ZVEI’s “Cables and Insulated Wires” trade association.
Europacable is the voice of all leading European wire and cable manufacturers. As a member of Europacable and signatory of the Europacable Industry Charter, Kabelwerk Rhenania GmbH supports and commits to fulfil the principles of this charter in order to promote and defend quality standards in the cable industry. The Charter expresses our commitment to the common principles and objectives of ethical, sustainable and high quality cable development and manufacturing.
